Thread-to-
metal
friction:
Various
metal or
ceramic
elements
can be
placed
into the
running
path of
the
thread.
This is
done by
simply
exchanging
the
carrier
plate
above
the
funnel.
Measures
abrasion
tendency
A funnel below the
coiling point collects the parts rubbed- off from the yarn or finish. The
built-in blast exhausts the dust into a small, easily removable filter.
Detects end
breakage tendency
End breakages
seriously disturb production during further processing. End breakage tendency
can be predicted more reliably with the Staff- Tester G 556;
for instance, more reliably than with strength tests.
Test the
roughening tendency with the Hairiness Tester G 566
In addition the
roughening tendency of the yarn can be tested without much extra work. The
hairiness increases due to the friction in the coil. This increase can be
determined by means of the Hairiness Tester
G 566, which can be directly linked up to the Staff- Tester G
556.
